NR2003 has many different mods featuring various NASCAR series, IndyCar series, and V8 Supercars. The scoring systems have also changed over time (see the overview of the main NASCAR scoring systems HERE).
HERE is a table showing who would have been the NASCAR Cup Series champion under each scoring system.
You can also calculate custom championship point standings using your own NR2003 results. To do this, select one or more NR2003 .html files containing race results. Make sure your results files should BE or END WITH R1.html, R2.html, and so on. The results must be saved after each race from the "STANDINGS" menu tab using the "EXPORT" button.For testing, a test set of results files (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 2015 season results) is available for download HERE.
